Meaning Matters
Making Meaning Participants’ Exhibition
Meaning Matters is a celebration of discernment. The keen perception and intellectual skill of sifting through and combining worldly debris to make connections to the collective unconscious through artistry goes far beyond cutting and pasting.
This exhibit seeks to display the personal or universal meaning that inspires or is born through the work of all collage artists attending the Making Meaning Collage Symposium
Participants are invited to submit one collage-based work, smaller than 18×24”, that best represents the theme, style, or process most essential to their current practice. Meaning Matters will be exhibited in Vassar College's Old Bookstore Gallery for the duration of the Symposium.

Rosanne Walsh makes art the way she lives her life, trusting in serendipity. Deemphasizing planning in favor of spontaneity and respect for instinct is her starting point, always, with more deliberation taking over as her meaning takes shape through experimentation, allowing the work to find its way. Collage and painting are her go-to techniques and she often combines the two.
