Meaning Matters

Making Meaning Participants’ Exhibition

Meaning Matters is a celebration of discernment. As we all know, the keen perception and intellectual skill of sifting through and combining worldly debris to make connections to the collective unconscious through artistry goes far beyond cutting and pasting.

This exhibition seeks to display the personal or universal meaning that inspires or is born through the work of all collage artists attending Making Meaning: A Collage Symposium. As a visual introduction, it intends to serve as a catalyst for deep conversations and to create lasting connections.

All symposium participants are invited to send one collage-based work, smaller than 18×24”, that best represents the theme, style, or process most essential to their current practice. Meaning Matters will be exhibited in Vassar College's Old Bookstore Gallery for the duration of the Symposium.

To participate:

  1. Register for the symposium. (Exhibition is for program participants only.)

  2. Fill out the form below.

  3. Print out an additional copy of the form to include with your sent work.

  4. Send unframed collage work, no larger than will fit into an 18 X 24“ “Stayflats” mailer to:
    Rosanne Walsh
